Soccer 2009

This year was the first year where we actually seen McCaden trying to play soccer. In the past soccer usually involved ring around the rosies, a game of chase on the field, or cheerleading. Josh would get so frustrated. For some reason this year it clicked and she actually went after the ball. She also loved being goalie. The first time she was goalie the other team made several goals I think she even made one for them, while trying to stop the ball she kicked it in. But she caught on quick and soon stopped the ball from going in the majority of the time. Josh commented that it was actually fun to watch this year.

McCaden 7 Years Old

So for birthdays in our family I have decided that every other year will be a family party and the other a friend party. Why you ask? I am not a real fan of planning and giving parties, yet I want my kids to experience it all. The funny thing is that the family parties are usually even bigger then the friend ones. So for McCaden's 7th Birthday we celebrated in Bear Lake with all my family and extended family on my mom's side, and then we had a little birthday cake with just our little fam. (Mostly because I couldn't get a cake in the cooler or to Bear Lake with out it melting I had done that the year before.)

What I love about McCaden at 7 years old.
I love that you are so sweet to everyone.
I love how helpful you are.
I love how animated you are when you talk with us your whole face and body tell the story along with your words.
I love that you can read to your brother and sister now.
I can't believe how beautiful you are.
You have hair to die for and the hair I always wish I had.(even the color)
Sometimes you are a bit dramatic but it makes me laugh because it reminds me of your dad.
I love that you are forgiving, as the oldest I feel like I make most of my parenting mistakes on you.
I love that I get to be your mother.
I Love you buggas!

Let's Dance

Austyn was in her very first dance class ballet/tap. She loved it! She was 31/2 at the time of the recital and I couldn't believe how well she did the whole dance. There was a girl by her (you can see in one of the pictures Austyn giving her a dirty look) that wouldn't stay in her spot. Austyn eventually got fed up with her and physically scooted her to her spot and then went back to her spot to finish the dance. It was very funny, we do have it on film I just haven't learned how to post those yet. I was worried about Austyn's shy personality around others and that she wouldn't perform once she got out there. She proved me very wrong!

McCaden was in Ballet/Jazz and did so well. She of course loves to get up in front of people and always has. They were both very cute and it was fun to watch because they both knew their dances and looked like they were having lots of fun.

Summer Fun 2009

In this effort to get caught up on this blog I am combining all our summer fun. So sorry about all the pictures. This was the first summer in a long time where we found ourselves with no baby, I wasn't pregnant, or nursing. So the plan was to do as much as we could fit in around Josh's work schedule. I have to admit I wasn't a good picture taker I am missing a lot of fun reunions with family.

Raging Waters
My kids have no fear of water which makes this yearly outing a little stressful for me. But every year we go to Raging Waters with Josh's family. His dad holds a party there for all his ortho patients.

Lagoon
It seems like every year we go to lagoon with my family. The kids love the rides, not one of them has been afraid to hop on a moving car, plane, train, or roller coaster. Josh gets to ride all the twirly rides with the kids that is why he is always on the ride pictures with them. They make me so sick. While I was posting these pics Jed asked if we could go there about a zillion times.

Bear Lake

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication
The kids really enjoyed seeing how beautiful the temple is inside. My grandma, Aunt Donna and her kids came with us.

Local Parade and the girls eating candy at our house after.

Our First Family Vacation

At the end of March 2009 we took our first ever family vacation with just our children. We are lucky to have a place to stay in San Diego a condo that Josh's parents own right on the beach. So we decided to make a week out of it stay on the beach and hit some fun places while we were at it. It was absolutely a ton of fun. We just barely arrived in San Diego and went straight for a walk after the ten hour drive. So pretty. When I say this condo is on the beach I mean walk out the door you are on the beach.

We went to the San Diego zoo it was awesome. It was nice to be at a zoo where the animals are mobile and look healthy, and have a really pretty environment that is big enough to move around in. The kids loved it. I did get some pictures of some of the animals but in those ones you only see the back of my kids heads so I just put on pictures that you can see my little animals faces.

This picture cracks me up because Jed actually hit this goat so hard it made a drum noise and everyone just looked at us. The goat didn't move at all and we had to tell Jed to be soft.

BEACH TIME
The whole week was beautiful until the day we left. I wish I would have taken more pictures but I hated bringing my camera down and worrying about it getting stolen or sand in it. We weren't there to sit we were busy having fun. The little ones didn't like the water much but could not get enough of the sand. McCaden would not stay out of the water so her and Josh spent most of the time in the ocean, while me and the babes played in the sand.

Disneyland
Our kids were the perfect age to really just go and enjoy the park. No whining, crying, naps, just pure fun. The first day we left Jed with my sister and Ben who came up the last couple of days we were in San Diego to hang out in the sun. So we went to California adventure with just the girls. They rode every ride they possibly could including the Tower of Terror. Austyn still talks about how mom had to hold her because she was flying out of her seat, as long as I am the hero and not the villan (Josh) for taking them on that ride in the first place.

Disneyland
I have tons of pictures but here are just a couple. Jed loved all the rides he thought we were getting into toy cars all day.

Our last day taking a walk before we hop in the car. This is the only day it was overcast.

Fun vacation, awful ride home. Jed literally cried for the first 3 hours. I am pretty sure from pure exhaustion because when he finally gave in he slept most of the 6 or 7 hours we had left. But misery always likes company so Austyn joined in as well then McCaden until it was a cry fest. The girls as funny as it sounds were crying because Jed wouldn't be quite. Josh and I just had to take these pictures and laugh. Life is good!
